I find it so funny when I see my life as a kid repeat in my daughter’s life. I can vividly remember being so excited over new school clothes that I wore them too soon. I know people always see the way the fashion industry brings the next seasons goodies to the stores so far ahead of time. I realize that it takes time to create, market and disperse their products. However, we don’t need to replicate their feelings of rush rush rush. We need to stand back and enjoy the current moment. Savour waiting and finally being able to wear that heavy sweater or gorgeous fur lined boots when the weather is appropriate.

When I was in junior high school, (now called middle school) I was so excited to have cowl necked sweaters. I just loved the way they curved down and didn’t tuck up under my chin. The 70′s were so full of turtlenecks which I just despised. It was a glamorous and needed change. Well, thank God for deodorant! lol I was determined to wear those cowl necked sweaters for the first week of school. That might be fine for someone living in Maine but in Maryland it was still way too warm in September. I don’t remember my mom warning me it was too hot for them either. She probably knew how excited I was and kept her mouth shut. Let me learn my lesson on my own, kinda thing. lol Boy did I! I was roasting but that stubborn streak of a newly crowned “teenager” wasn’t going to let me admit it. I wore them all week.

The past two days, my just turned 13 princess, decided that since the weather has brought us a nice breeze and a slight drop in temperature, that it was time to start wearing the winter jacket we bought her. I admit, she has had more patience than I ever did. She bought it in August and it’s now early October. You might say she has good judgment! However, you have to take into account one thing, we live in central Florida. lol Yup Our little drop in temperature over the past two days has brought us down to the upper 80′s. When a front goes through here it doesn’t last long. That wind just pushes is right along and off shore.

My daughter’s middle school has a dress policy that girls can’t wear spaghetti string or tank tops to school. If you haven’t noticed layering those tanks is the “in” thing lately. So, Natalia has lots of little shrugs and light jackets to wear over her shoulders for school. They look adorable and have been perfect for dressing up what some people refer to as a “wife beater”.

Yesterday, she decided that she wanted to wear that winter jacket finally. A bit too soon in my experience. So instead of letting her learn on her own, I just said it was a silly idea and that was that. The End. The look on her face broke my heart. I thought about it all yesterday. Was I wrong for putting my foot down? No, it was my job, as a mom, to impart the “wisdom” I’ve achieved. Right? After all, she would have to wear the coat all day (continuously) because she was wearing a tank top! It still nagged at me. So this morning, when she pleaded with me again, I hit upon the perfect solution. I said yes. I said yes-BUT she also had to bring a lighter jacket. I explained that this was just in case she decided for herself that it was too hot to wear the coat as the day heated up. She could keep it in her locker and use her own common sense to switch to it when she finally figured out it was still too hot for a winter coat. I was so pleased with my answer and her face lit up like a firecracker. I love compromise. I love my daughter. She’s such a little me. I also love taking advantage of knowing what she is actually thinking. I still remember the way my mind worked at her age.. That maturing little mind of hers. I’ll let that guide me in raising her. Here come the “teens”.

Business needs to learn to slow down. The fashion industry needs to learn to take a breath. Always trying to get it out there “first” is the theme of business. I just wish someone would learn a little restraint. That feeling of rushing is what makes our lives pass by so fast. It makes our children grow up too soon and we get older faster. Stop putting out the Christmas decorations in September. Let’s just stay in “this” season for a little longer.

Hugs, Claudia

Anyway, to update you on what's happening... I'm down to 165 pounds now and have stayed there for the last three weeks of no starches no sugars.

Ready for a wrap up for my Round 2? I started this Round off at 182.4 pounds. It was a nice steady weight loss in the beginning of this protocol but I have to admit to slacking off. As a result my weight waffled right around the same numbers until I got serious again. By then I think it was too late. We’ve noticed the hCG seems to be less effective at about the 3 week point of a bottle. I know it’s not the 35 day plateau they talk about because when my husband and I were sharing bottles we noticed a difference. We were at different points in our protocol too. Hope that makes sense. lol

Anyway, to update you on what’s happening… I’m down to 165 pounds now and have stayed there for the last three weeks of no starches no sugars. SO my total lost is 47 pounds. 32 pounds Round One and 15 pounds Round Two. I’m happy. I’m able to fit into my size 12 jeans now.Yippeee!

Hubby is about to start his Round 2 and I’ll be able to go for it again in the beginning of October. I have to wait the 8 weeks between rounds of protocol this time. hmmmm That should have me finishing up just in time for the holidays! Sounds good to me! lol

Talk to you soon!

For those of you just joining the fun… The weights are in tenths because that is how my scale shows it to me. It is not in ounces. So basically 1.8 pounds lost is 1 pound 13 ounces today.

I didn’t check in yesterday I lost 0.4 pound so my total loss in 7 days of shots is 6.6 pounds Not too shabby. I’m anxious to see 7 days effective (on the 9th shot day) to see how it compares to one week last time. I feel I’m on a better trend this time over all because by the 9th shot last time I was at 7.2 pounds lost.

keeping my fingers crossed, Claudia

hCG Day 5 Round 2 177.6 Lost 2 pounds

This is cool. I’m steadily losing this time. So far I’m not seeing the big drop one day then nothing the next. I know it’s too soon to really say it’s a trend but on Day 5 Round 1 I didn’t lose after the 4 pound drop. I’d rather lose steadily each day. Those days when there is no change are disheartening.

Overall, you have to keep reminding yourself that it’s the end result and to not have these huge expectations. I told my husband, “it’s like when we scold the kids for not studying everyday. Final exams come around and you see the payoff. ”

Well, the first 72 hours is over an I have lost the two pounds I put on in the pig out stage. (Excuse me, lol the gorge yourself stage.) Plus, I lost almost another pound. Thats not as great as the four pounds I lost on Day 4 in Round 1 but I’ll take it. I did notice that was a lot hungrier today than I remember being in Round 1. It’s just the beginning and the company sent me another brand of hCG so we’ll see if that continues.

hCG protocol Day 70

I took my last injection on Thursday and continued the 500 cal diet through Sunday. My family and I had a yardsale on Saturday and I have been absolutely exhausted since then. Not to mention what my sunburn did to my body. It was the first really hot day this year and I was drinking so much water I feel like it’s taken til today to get everything back to normal. I lost my final pound and I’m happy to say that I reached my 30 pounds lost!!! From 212 to 182 in 70 days.

Now begins the next phase where I have three weeks no carbs and no sugars but I can eat as much of everything else as I want. I can’t really see myself as going for broke as you would think I would want. Pigging out just doesn’t appeal to me. My stomach is so much flatter and I am filled up so much sooner. From what I read the key to this time is learning to listen to my body and how to eat right. It says that it’s ok to add fats back in sparingly but that adding carbohydrates back in at the same time would allow the fats to deposit again. I sure as hell don’t want to do that! lol So I’m taking it slow and behaving. I can last three weeks. I just did over two months right! It’s a mental thing.

I’ll check in with yo again soon..

Ok well I bow to the Doctor. lol My weight stayed the exact same 184.4 all week since that last drop. I wanted to get to 30 pounds lost this Round. I did an apple day one more time yesterday to see if I could equalize the protein shifts and lost 0.8. I’ll do the injection one more day to make it 45 and see. I’ll still have the three days to do the 500 cal while the hCG leaves my system over the weekend. I weighed 183.2 today so that brings my total to 28.8 pounds lost total.

Talk to you again soon!

hCG Day 62

Injection #40 Saturday April 24th

I increased my water and didn’t have any carbs. Yes, I was able to resist the goldfish last night. lol Add that the the hCG have 72 hours to take effect again and wham! I lost 2.8 pounds. Three even if you count the .2 I finally lost yesterday. I’m convinced I’d be losing more regularly if I was a man. We’ll see. Looks like my husband is finally convinced and he wants to start the protocol. I know the weight is just going to melt off of him.

So today was decision day and I think you know what I’ve decided. I’m going to continue the shots. Most likely just another week. I have plenty of medicine left and it doesn’t expire until May 5th. I’ll watch my weight each day and see if I start to plateau or get hungry. Those are the signs of immunity. I will admit. I’m ready to give it a rest for a while. It’s such a strict diet and though I can’t have carbs for three weeks just being able to each more protein will make me happy. lol However, what drives me more is losing the weight. I’m so motivated now I don’t want to lose that momentum. Time for me to re-read the next phase information and get ready for that. Oh btw todays weight loss brings me to 27.6 pounds lost since February 22nd.

Friday April 23rd Injection #39

This week started out with such a high but then leveled out again. My weight went backup a pound on tuesday to 187.4 and stayed there all week. It finally came down .2 of a pound today. It’s been a rough week. I had lots of cravings and instead of being good I rationalized. For instance I told myself that since I didn’t have my melba toasts that is was okay to eat some Pepperidge Farms Goldfish. So between that and having to go through the three days of loading up on the hCG again nothing has been progressing. I wish women didn’t have to stop the injections while on our periods. I frustrated because I feel like I am continuously starting over.

It’s time for another big decision. Today was injection 39 and the protocol calls for 40 days. With the reason for stopping is so the body doesn’t get immune to the effects, I’m inclined to go past the 40 shots. Looking into 6 weeks of not losing anymore weight is daunting. I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. I’ll see how things go with my weight for the next two days. Again, these are my decisions based on logic and NOT part of the protocol. This is expensive and I hate the thought of wasting the hCG to boot. This slow down may be because I’m getting immune but the way it fell on the end of my period makes me think otherwise. Stayed tuned to see how this guinea pig responds. lol
