Want to look like you have lost 10 pounds without going on a diet? Let’s face it, even the slimmest of us can look pudgy if dressed wrong. So for those of us who are carrying a few extra pounds, anything that helps us feel our best is always appreciated. Over the next few weeks we are going to explore 10 Tips and Techniques to help us look 10 pounds lighter. I’m not talking camouflage or hanging out with friends that are bigger than we are. lol I’m talking about tips on picking the right clothes and thinking about what we wear.

Tip #1 Always look to MA!
No, not your mom… Monochrome & Accessorize! The simplest but easiest forgotten tip is choose outfits of one earth tone color from head to toe. Browns, blues, blacks, even cream or when appropriate white can work for anyone. The key is to accessorize away from the areas we don’t want attention. Have a big bottom? A bow, a print scarf, a pendant, or a unique pin are all great ways to pull peoples eyes away from those big hips. A touch of a pretty print on the hem of a skirt, with a nice solid top will detract attention from a disproportionate bosom. By creating a monochromatic look we appear taller and leaner. A sure hit.

Was last year a little lack luster? Did your family not come through for you? Well, let’s get a little more proactive then. No not he facial cleanser… lol I know things are a little tough right now but you deserve it. It’s our one day each year that is just ours. We aren’t sharing this holiday with the kids or our spouses. This Mother’s day 2008 is all ours. It’s for the ladies and we deserve something we want. Not what other people think we would like.

Your kids make lists, don’t they? Well. you should make one. I know it relieves the stress and worry my husband has about gifts. You know the greatest part about lists. I write them out thinking of all the goodies I’d never buy for myself and write more ideas than they should get. I also make sure they are in all sorts of price ranges. I’m being considerate right? It’s not just a t shirt anymore. Today, tops are a statement. Gone are the concert t shirts. We’ve handed them down to our teenage daughters and even sons to layer under those button down the front shirts. Todays fashionistas are wearing womens fashion t shirts. THey are fun, funky and easy to wear. What makes a top a fashion t shirt? Colors don’t matter. It’s that little added spice. That sparkle that takes a bland t shirt and makes it fun to wear. It becomes a little more dressed up than just a T shirt but it’s just as comfortable as that old faithful cotton pal.

This is a great easy going look for spring. Don’t get stuck on the color if red isn’t your thing. The idea is a happy bright top to make you feel good. Ity can be a fun print like a floral if that is what makes you happy. The empire waist is the feature to look for when you are shopping. It is complimentary to most any body type and helps to draw your eye in to our smallest part of the torso. The sleeves cover a good part of the shoulders and upper arms so comfortable and the neckline has a nice V to bring your eye down the center while not being too revealing.

Capri jeans area must in every womans wardrobe. They can be dressed up or down by just changing your shoes to a more fancy heel and adding some fun jewelry. I love these espadrilles in the same bright color as the top. The colors bring your eyes down the body and make the viewer pop to the feet. Big hips and thighs fade to the background with this outfit. The wedge shoe is amazingly stable and the heel adds length to your legs making a more eye appealing proportions. I know I adore them and that slight angle improves your posture. You can’t lose. A great versitile look for spring!
